- 6 Glasses
- 6 Sticks
- 6 Cups Water
- 18 Cups Sugar
- 12 Clothespins
- Food Coloring / Food Dye
Directions:
- Start by heating up a one cup of water at a time, and dissolve 3 cups of sugar in each cup of water
- Once the sugar is fully dissolved and the water is clear pour into a glass and let cool
- You can then make whatever colors you want by adding food coloring to the liquid and mixing
- After the liquid is cooled, place each stick to the bottom of a glass to coat the stick in the sticky sugar water solution
- Immediately run the stick through sugar, and evenly coat the stick with as much sugar as you can
- Allow the stick to dry before taking two clothespins and attaching them to the stick just where it sticks out of the glass
- Then place each stick in a different colored glass and use the clothespins to suspend the stick by resting the clothespins on the rim of the glass
- Let the sticks sit in the solution for at least 5 days, however, waiting longer can allow bigger crystals to form (Up to 14 days)
- Finally after waiting, break the top layer of solidified sugar and remove the sticks, placing them on a paper towel to dry
- Once dried, enjoy!
