Scratch pancakes are soft, fluffy, and made completely from simple pantry ingredients—no boxed mix needed. Lightly golden on the outside with a tender, airy center, they come together quickly for the perfect homemade breakfast. Whether topped with butter, maple syrup, or fresh fruit, these pancakes are a classic way to start the day.
Prep Time: 15 Minutes | Cook Time: 25 Minutes | Serves: 6 Medium Pancakes
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 Cups AP Flour
- 2 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Baking Powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 1/4 Cups Milk
- 1 Egg
- 3 Tbsp Melted Unsalted Butter
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- Additional Butter
Directions:
- Mix the dry ingredients together in a bowl
- Mix the wet ingredients together in a bowl
- Combine the two and mix just enough so the flour isn’t visible but the batter is still lumpy
- Rest for 10 Minutes
- Get a pan over medium to medium-high heat and add a tbsp or two of butter
- Then use a 1/4 cup measurement to get small equal sized pancakes
- If you want bigger pancakes, use a 1/3 cup measurement or even 1/2 for big pancakes
- Place any toppings you want in before you flip it, I personally like blueberries
- Cook about 2-3 minutes on the first side or until golden brown, then flip and cook another 1-2 minutes
- Remove, add butter and syrup (Optional) or whatever you desire
- Serve and enjoy!
